12/25/2023 0 Comments Xcom long war meld amount![]() ![]() Strategy this game was ignore lasers for air game and go with phoenix coilguns/cannons. Overall strategy influenced by the severe alloy shortage which may have had to do with 15b balance. ![]() My current game is b15f restarted from a 15b game due to severe alloy shortage and a few other issues that were annoying me to do with class specs. It would be helpful if you tell us what the situation in your current game is. If you're not struggling in the air and you have a good tac game - why are you rushing gauss? If your soldiers keep dying, why are you rushing UFO analysis etc. It's quite interesting when you take this approach, because it shows which tech paths pay off in different parts of the game. When I was prioritising these, I made a list and flagged each research item as improving on air game, tac game, strat game. The advantage as I see of this strategy is that you get your airgame on track early which helps with resources, and if you've been building labs judiciously you can get through most of the armour research in a month (whereas early game it takes a long time for relatively minor benefit.) I have considered bumping up alien materials in the list because this gives a better set of council requests and can help if you are engineer starved. I'll acknowledge this does not work for everyone, but I like to skip Phalanx and go straight to crapaface (I'm sure that's a spelling mistake :> ). You will see that I run for a long time (until end July/early August usually) without any form of upgraded armour. Gauss Weapons > Advanced Gauss Weapons (GLG, RR) Improved Body Armor > Advanced Armour > Elerium > Power Armour (Because by now I really need armour) Grabbing better armour earlier is a bonus if you need it for tac game etc, but my usual order is: Nice bonus is lasers for troops)Īlien Materials > UFO Analysis Scout > UFO Analysis Fighter (Gets you ability to analyse ufo's)Įxperimental Warfare > Advanced Aerospace Systems (Opens up foundry projects and gives you ability to build track booster)Īfter that it depends a bit on how things are going - no point in going for Xenoneurology if your containment facility has not been started. Xenobiology (gets you scientists for requests)Īlien Weaponry > Beam Lasers > Advanced Beam Lasers (gets you laser cannons for air game. My early game research order is as follows: Prerequisites: Recover Meld during a missionĬompleting this project immediately grants an additional 40 for use.Normal, Ironman, 15f, red fog, aiming angles, both dlc It is probable that the invaders are more familiar with Meld than we are, and may already be fielding combat elements that take full advantage of its capabilities. In any case, the advances we've made should allow for a wide range of applications in the fields of genetic modification and cybernetic enhancement, although we will need to build dedicated facilities to enable these potential research pathways. While searching our records for any references to a material with similar properties, I uncovered a number of redacted data stores created in the 1960s, but much of that information appears to be lost. In early testing, we were able to devise several methods that allow for direct manipulation of the Meld substance and its physiochemical properties. This amazing material's most salient feature is its versatility. ![]() Further analysis could shed light on its potential dangers and applications. The invaders appear to have deployed canisters of this strange substance in human-populated areas, perhaps as an experiment. ![]()
